Explore the beautiful meadows of Kullu valley and the majestic mountains of Spiti.

MANALI – HAMPTA PASS – CHANDRA TAL – SPITI VALLEY

We have often seen blue skies and turquoise lakes of LEH LADAKH but these are too main stream and are flooded with bikers and ‘tourists’. The beauty of Himalayas can only be enjoyed if you truly stay close to the mountains.

Hampta Pass is one of the most picturesque location situated deep into the Pir Panjal range of lower Himalayas between Lahaul and Kullu valley. It is a traditional route which is still often used by shepherds when they search for grazing fields for their cattle in high altitude.

Hampta Pass trek is considered as one of the most beautiful Himalayan trek because of the numerous landscapes and biodiversity it offers. Very often trekkers cry out of happiness and feel re-united with themselves as they walk through the beautiful valley where you walk side by side with a river flowing on a green carpet studded with colorful flowers and fenced with huge mountains over 6000 meters. It is like walking into a fairy land. You keep on trekking with your fancy shoes on till you feel you will drop and reach to beautiful campsites with colorful tents that make a perfect cozy stay.

In late August and early September there is flowering season and the entire panoramic view gets even beautiful with yellow and purple flowers that dance to winds as they pass through the valleys. The blue water flowing from the melting glaciers is so transparent that you can see even the tiniest pebble rolling in the river.

The day sky is as blue as it can be and the night sky tries to compete putting up a spectacular show with frequent episodes of shooting stars and showing up the milky-way at late nights.

You stay up your eyes wide open trying not to miss a single view during the day and you sleep under the beautiful night skies thinking about the next day which again surprises you with a magical show.

The entire experience is not something you can get even by spending thousands of dollars. All you need is a rucksack, a nice pair of trekking shoes, a colorful wind cheater and a PASSION OF EXPLORING SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY.
