The Tungnath–Chandrashila trek, nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, is a high-altitude trail that offers a compelling blend of spiritual heritage and alpine grandeur.
Commencing from the scenic meadows of Chopta, the route ascends to Tungnath—the highest Shivalaya globally—situated at an elevation of 3,680 meters and revered as one of the Panch Kedar shrines.

The final ascent to Chandrashila Peak (approximately 4,000 meters) rewards trekkers with a sweeping 360-degree panorama of the snow-clad Himalayan range, including iconic peaks such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, Bandarpunch, Kedarnath, and Chaukhamba. According to mythology, this is where Shree Ram meditated after defeating the demon-king Ravana and the Moon-God(Chandra) spent time here in penance.

Renowned for its relatively moderate gradient and year-round accessibility (with snow-laden trails in winter), the trek is particularly captivating during the early morning hours,
when the first light illuminates the mountain skyline. Ideal for seasoned hikers and culturally inclined explorers alike, the Tungnath–Chandrashila trek offers a uniquely immersive Himalayan experience.

Deoriatal is a pristine, high-altitude lake located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, perched at an elevation of approximately 2,438 meters (7,999 ft). Surrounded by dense forests and offering crystal-clear reflections of the Chaukhamba massif on calm days, the lake is a favorite among trekkers, nature photographers and enthusiasts.
